The Englishman has become the highest paid
player in the Premier League.
Wayne Rooney has snubbed all interested
parties and instead signed a new contract with
Manchester United that is worth a colossal
£70m, according to the Sun.
The four-and-a-half year deal will see Rooney
stay at Old Trafford until he is 32-years-old and become the highest paid player in Premier
League history with wages of £300,000-a-
week.
It's thought this new contract, plus the
England international being named as
successor as captain to the departing Nemanja Vidic, has convinced the 28-year-old to stay.
Rooney was strongly linked with a move away
from United as the English champions
continue to struggle since the retirement of
Sir Alex Ferguson as manager.
