Should I just Ask This Girl If She's Interested???

Dear WM Readers, I've known her for quite a while and to me it seems like her friendliness is becoming a little more than just being friendly. She's been going out of her way on some things for me, we're into the same things, we share things about ourselves that we haven't told anyone else. I really like her but I don't know if she's into me in that way. I don't want to weird her out by asking and her not being interested because that would probably ruin our friendship BUT I don't want to
possibly miss out by making her think I'm not interested in her if she is interested in me. I've threw out a lot of hints and it would seem she has too but nothing has really been said and I would like to know how to appropriately ask for confirmation I guess without causing trouble. I'm afraid if I tell her she's going to be shocked and appalled I was attracted to her. So should I just grow a pair and ask and hope for the best while dealing with the possible consequences later?
