Jennifer Lopez "So Proud" of Wedding Planner Co-Star Matthew McConaughey--Find Out Why!

Matthew McConaughey is into
serious indie roles now, but no one-- including Jennifer Lopez--wants to forget about his rom-com days!
In 2001, the Oscar winner starred
opposite J.Lo in The Wedding
Planner, where in a series of meet- cutes, cheesy lines and swoon- worthy gestures, he sweeps her off her feet. Nearly thirteen years later, Jennifer is still impressed by her one-
time leading man, telling Para Todas.magazine, "It was great working with Matthew."
"[I'm] So proud of what he's
accomplished over the last few
years," adds the 44-year-old star,
"and I have fond memories of him
on set."
The American Idol judge, who was
named Para Todas' Entertainer of the Year, is appreciative of another rom- com she worked on as well: 2002's Maid in Manhattan. Her greatest memory from the film? "Being able to return to the Bronx," she says, "and shoot a movie in the neighborhood where I grew up."
But it was Jennifer's 1997 starring
role in Selena portraying the late
Latin artist that "was life-changing for me," she says. "I got to immerse myself in her life, got to know her family, her home, her culture...every
part of her story.  It was a special
time in my life both professionally
and personally.
"Playing her not only opened doors for me in the film world, but it inspired me to start my own music career," she tells the mag.  "In a lot of ways, I wouldn't be where I am today if I hadn't had that experience."
