South Korea ferry disaster

South Korea's Yonhap news agency has compiled a list of South Korea's major ship accidents. The incidents with the
most deaths took place in 1993, when a passenger liner sank off the southwest coast, killing 292, and in 1970, when
a passenger liner sank off the coast of Yeosu city in the south, killing 323.
South Korean officials have revised down the number of people on the ferry from 476 to 459. However, this still leaves more than 250 people unaccounted for.
Several hundred people remain unaccounted for after a ferry carrying 459 people capsized and sank off South Korea. You can see how the ship sank in this picture gallery .
