50 Cent Thinks Jay Z "Did the Right Thing" in the Elevator With Solange, Figures She Was Defending Sister Beyoncé

50 Cent doesn't think that Jay Z could have handled his fight with Solange Knowles in any other way.
"He did the right thing," the rapper said about his fellow hip-hop artist during a sit-down with E! News today.


"They'll make fun of it because it's an opportunity to make fun. At the end of the day, the nightmare would've been him
responding in any other way."
Musing on how he would have reacted if it had been him under attack, Fiddy added, "Would you be wrong for defending yourself? In that place, just instinctively, if he had defended himself, would he have been wrong?"

Happily, the tension between Jay Z, wife Beyoncé and Solange seems to have abated--but 50 Cent has his ideas about what triggered Solange to go after her brother-in-law in the elevator at the Standard hotel in NYC after the three had briefly attended a Met Gala afterparty last month.

The rap star and brand mogul born Curtis Jackson delved a little further into a Beyoncé story he's been telling while
making the publicity rounds for his new album, Animal Ambition, which dropped today, and the Starz drama Power, which he both appears in and executive-produced,
premiering Saturday.

He described an incident that he says occurred in a VIP area at the Cosmopolitan in Las Vegas on New Year's Eve during which Beyoncé almost got in his face as a
preemptive strike because she wasn't sure how things were going between him and her husband.

"Everybody was somebody there," he recalled. "Gayle King, Jay Z, Beyoncé, Rihanna, Kanye, Solange, Jennifer Lopez,
Marc Anthony, Mark Wahlberg, Forest Whitaker. It was just packed with people." (He didn't specify which New Year's
Eve...) And Beyoncé came down off of a "ledge" in the room to confront him.

"I don't think she understands that our energy is...it's not negative," Fiddy said of himself and Jay Z.
"Wasn't nobody gonna do nothin' to Jay [on Beyoncé's watch]," he smiled.
And judging by that encounter, 50 Cent now is convinced that Solange had to have been sticking up for her sister in some way when she took some swings at Jay Z.

"Like, [Beyoncé] got down off of the thing and jumped down and came over--and it didn't really match up with what was happening in the elevator," he said. "I think that was on her behalf that time."
"Because I saw that [in Vegas], I know that it'd be almost impossible for someone to do something to him and her not respond to it," the rapper added.
