President Jonathan Orders Ousted CBN Governor Sanusi's Security Detail Removed

Despite proclamations by President Goodluck Jonathan during his Media Chat on Monday that Sanusi Lamido Sanusi remains the Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, SaharaReporters has learnt that the State Security Service has withdrawn his security protection.
A source familiar with the action told Sahara Reporters that the CBN governor’s security detail was removed shortly after the President concluded the Media Chat.  The strategy seems to aim at exposing Mr. Sanusi to danger arising from the suspended CBN governor’s position on the missing $20 billion at the Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC).
Sanusi’s position began to generate international pressure and embarrassment for the Jonathan government following reports by some western media outlets knowledgeable about the fraud perpetrated by cronies of the President.  Those reports continue to say that Sanusi was ousted for exposing the rot at the NNPC.
Adding to the pressure on the government, the Northern Nigeria socio-cultural group, Arewa Consultative Forum (ACF), has warned that no evil should befall Mr. Sanusi as he continues his outspoken crusade to expose the theft of billions of dollars in oil revenue at the NNPC.

TECH: See The Fitness Band That Doubles Up a Phone & It Even Lets You Make Call In The Shower

wearable tech this year and the latest comes from
phone maker Huawei.

The TalkBand 1 comes with a 1.4-inch flexible
display, has built-in GPS and a pedometer and will
monitor sleep patterns, like the Fitbit.

It looks similar to the fitness bands released from the
likes of Nike and Adidas, yet acts more like a
Samsung Gear smartwatch – letting users make calls
from their wrist.

Unlike the Gear range, however, Huawei doesn't limit
the TalkBand's use to only its own handsets. The fitness band connects to any current Android and
iOS device.

could make them brainier.

Although it sounds like a clever ploy, psychologists
say that making love can boost intelligence.

That's in addition to previous research which shows
that sex not only helps to decrease your stress levels
but also burns up calories. The latest research, conducted on mice, found that
love-making greatly increased the creation of neurons
located within the hippocampus, an area of the brain
that is responsible for the formation of long-term
memory.

FRCN Report Also Indicted CBN Acting Governor, Alade, Other Deputy Governors For Alleged Fraud-PREMIUM TIMES

Even though the CBN governor and the bank’s deputy governors were indicted and recommended for sack, the president moved against Mr. Sanusi alone.
The Central Bank’s new acting governor, Sarah Alade, and all of the bank’s deputy governors took part in the alleged squandering of billions of naira at the bank, and should be fired alongside the bank’s governor, Lamido Sanusi, the Financial Reporting Council’s recommendations, on which President Goodluck Jonathan based his suspension of Mr. Sanusi, has said.
Mr. Sanusi was suspended last Thursday by President Goodluck Jonathan, for “financial recklessness”, an allegation he strongly denies.
But regardless of an outpouring of reactions to his suspension – which many Nigerians believe is linked more to his exposing government corruption – Mr. Jonathan will not sack all the indicted deputy governors at a go, and may even spare them, a senior aide to the president told PREMIUM TIMES Saturday.
The government is accusing the CBN, under Mr. Sanusi, of financial recklessness, but many Nigerians believe the governor is being punished for accusing state oil company, the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation of diverting as mush as $20 billion of the country’s oil revenues.

APC Says CBN Sanusi Suspension Is A Distraction - The $20 Billion In Oil Funds Are Still Missing

The All Progressives Congress (APC) accused President Jonathan today of using the Sanusi suspension as a distraction in the investigation over the missing $20 billion in oil funds.
In a statement, APC said instead of discrediting the Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, the Jonathan administration would have been better using the time to investigate the missing oil funds, and the case would have been solved by now.   ''Fortunately, discerning Nigerians are not hoodwinked by the Presidency's choreographed mudslinging against a whistle blower…"
The Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Malam Lamido Sanusi Lamido claimed the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation failed to make payments totally $20 billion to the Federation Account.
Saharareporters broke the story last year releasing a letter sent by Mr. Sanusi to President Goodluck Jonathan about the missing monies.
The revelation led the Nigerian Senate Committee on Finance to hold hearings earlier this month investigating claims about the missing funds.
The APC statement, was issued by the interim National Publicity Secretary, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, and says the party still has questions:
What happened to the missing 20 billion dollars?
If part of the funds were used for kerosene subsidy, as was claimed in the Senate hearings, who authorized the spending of money that was not appropriated, in violation of the nation's constitution?
Who reinstated the subsidy removed by a presidential directive?
If $8.76 billion of the missing money was used for kerosene subsidy, whom and who are the beneficiaries, since Nigerians are not enjoying any subsidy on kerosene for which they are paying at least 150 Naira per litre?
The APC also said Sanusi's suspension was unlawful but if the allegations have validity the federal government should have charged him instead of discrediting him.
They also claim the Jonathan Administration's decision effected the value of the Naira and the general economy, ''These are just short-term repercussions. The long-term fallout may be the scaring off of foreign investors by the perception of instability in the financial sector and the erosion of the CBN's autonomy. If and when that happens, a President who has so far failed to uplift his nation's economy would have succeeded in sabotaging it."
